One surprise so far in the Round of 32 at the 2024 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) LPRT Battle at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. Twenty-second seed Michelle Key came back from a game down to upset 11th seed Natalia Mendez, 14-15, 15-9, 11-2. Key will face 6th seed Gabriela Martinez in the Round of 16 Thursday afternoon, as Martinez beat 27th seed Fatima Sanchez Garcia, 15-3, 15-3, in the 32s.
Also in the 32s, 17th seed Naomi Ros won the 16/17 match, upsetting 16th Lexi York - and her doubles parter - in two close games, 15-14, 15-10, and 10th seed Cristina Amaya needed a tie-breaker to fend off 23rd seed Frédérique Lambert, 15-13, 4-15, 11-7.
Play continues Thursday with the Round of 16. The quarterfinals will be Friday morning from 9:40 AM followed by the doubles Round of 16 at 11:50 AM Friday with the quarterfinals at 5:15 and 6:20 PM Friday.
