The Pan American Racquetball Confederation (PARC) announced that the XXXIII Pan American Championships are suspended. These championships were scheduled for September 3-11 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The on-going COVID-19 pandemic likely caused this suspension, which may have been spurred on by the knowledge that both the USA and Canada would not be attending the event due to pandemic concerns.
The Pan Am Championships are an annual competition that usually takes place the week before Easter. They didn’t happen last year due to the pandemic, and were postponed earlier this year from April to September in hopes of having the event in 2021. Those hopes are now dashed.
The rescheduled date for the XXXIII Pan Am Championships is April 9-17, 2022, which is the traditional timing of the championships. The release doesn’t state where the event will take place, so it may not be in Santa Cruz.
