IRT Round of 32 at 2022 US Open

There were two tie-breakers in the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Round 32 at the 2022 US Open at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and both resulted in upsets. In one, Diego Garcia held on to defeat 11th seed Sebastian Franco, 15-6, 10-15, 11-8, and in the other Eduardo Garay came back from a game down to defeat 15th seed Thomas Carter, 5-15, 15-12, 11-1.

In the Round of 16, Garcia will take on 6th seed Conrrado Moscoso, who was a straight game winner over Sam Bredenbeck, 15-4, 15-10, and Garay faces 2nd seed Andree Parrilla, who was a winner over Guillermo Jesus Ortega Jr., 15-11, 15-11, in the 32s.

In the Battle of Minnesota, the fight was very one sided, as 8th seed Jake Bredenbeck beat qualifier Jordan Barth, 15-2, 15-2. In other matches that we thought would be closer than they turned out to be Andés Acuña defeated Mauricio Zelada, 15-3, 15-11, and Rocky Carson beat Edwin Galicia, 15-3, 15-5.

The IRT Round of 16 will be tonight, and all of the matches look very enticing.
