The drama continued on Saturday in the finals of the Men's and Women's National Team divisions at the 2015 USA Racquetball Doubles Championships in Tempe, Arizona, as tie-breakers were needed in both finals.
Men's #1 seeds Jose Rojas and Jansen Allen dropped the first game against 2nd seeds Ben Croft and Thomas Fuhrmann, but then came back to win in a tie-breaker, 5-15, 15-8, 11-4.
Rhonda Rajsich and Kim Russell-Waselenchuk won the Women's title, as they upset defending champions Aimee Ruiz and Janel Tisinger, 1-15, 15-10, 11-9. It's the second title for Rajsich and Russell-Waselenchuk, who were winners in 2012, and only the second time in the last eleven years that Ruiz has not been a part of the winning side.
The winners have earned the privilege to represent the USA at the 2015 Pan American Games, the largest multi-sport event outside of the Summer Olympics, and the biggest event that includes racquetball, which will be in Toronto this July.
