After a couple of upsets in the Round of 16 at the World Racquetball Tour (WRT) Mount Rainier Open in Seattle, all four top seeds won in the quarterfinals to book their places in the semi-finals. That includes top seed David Horn, although again he didn’t do it the easy way, as he came from a game down to defeat Jordy Alonso, 9-15, 15-9, 11-4. Next up for Horn is 4th seed and 10 time WRT event winner Polo Gutierrez, who defeated Christian Longoria, 15-14, 12-15, 11-9, in the quarters. If Horn starts slow against Gutierrez, it could be too much to overcome.
In the other semi will be 2nd seed Andree Parrilla against 3rd seed Rodrigo Montoya. Parrilla defeated Gerardo Franco in two straight games, 15-4, 15-3, and Montoya took out Mauro Rojas, 15-4, 15-13, in the quarters.
You can watch the semi-finals live from Seattle via the WRT website from 5 PM Pacific time. The final will be Sunday at noon.
