Adam Manilla into quarters at 2022 IRT New York Open

Seven of the top eight seeds are into the quarterfinals at the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) New York Open in Wantagh, New York. Adam Manilla is the exception, as the 12th seed upset 5th Eduardo Portillo, 13-15, 15-7, 11-7, in the Round of 16 on Friday. He’ll play 4th seed Alejandro Landa in the quarters, as Landa squeaked by 13th seed Sebastian Fernandez, 15-14, 15-13.

In other action, IRT #1 Daniel De La Rosa beat 16th seed Jordy Alonso, 15-5, 15-7, and will play 8th seed Mario Mercado in the quarters, as Mercado came back from a game down to defeat David Horn, 14-15, 15-7, 11-3. IRT #2 Andree Parrilla also won in two straight games, beating Guillermo Jesus Ortega Jr, 15-9, 15-12 to set up a match with 7th seed Kane Waselenchuk, who beat Hector Barrios, 15-3, 15-5, in the 16s. Finally, IRT #3 Samuel Murray defeated 14th seed Eduardo Garay in two straight games, 15-13, 15-0, and will play 6th seed Conrrado Moscoso in the quarters, as Moscoso beat 11th seed Andres Acuña, 15-6, 15-4.
