It's qualifying day for the 2011 Mexico Open in Tijuana, as the International Racquetball Tour's (IRT's) 2010-2011 season nears its end. This is the penultimate Tier 1 event, as only the Ektelon National Singles Championships (a grand slam event) will be left in this season. Those championships will be May 25-29 in Fullerton, California.
There's a small qualifying draw in Tijuana with only 16 players, so only one round of qualifying is needed to determine who'll advance to the main draw Round of 16. Tony Carson, one of the hottest IRT players of late, is in Tijuana, as well as Charlie Pratt, Anthony Herrera and Juan Herrera.
All of Friday's matches are being streamed live over the internet via the IRT Network. Their streaming will begin at 11:30 AM PDT Friday.
