The XXIV Pan American Championships have begun in Managua, Nicaragua. There will be four days of preliminary matches with the results being used to seed players for the elimination round draw. Some of the matches can be seen via the Pan American Racquetball Confederation.
We've told you who's on the US and Canadian teams. The Mexican team is comprised of Gilberto Mejia and Daniel De La Rosa in men's singles, Polo Gutierrez and Javier Moreno in men's doubles and Paola Longoria and Samantha Salas doing double duty in both women's singles and doubles.
Also, Bolivian Ricardo Monroy is back to defend the gold medal he won last year in Honduras. Below is a list of who won medals at last year's Pan American Championships.
The results of these championships are being used to determine the teams for the 2011 Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
