15th Annual Ghost of Georgetown - Quarterfinals

Ben Croft needed five games, but he made defeated Jose Rojas, the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) #4 player, 10-12, 11-8, 11-3, 8-11, 11-5, in the quarterfinals of the 15th Annual Ghost of Georgetown tournament in Overland Park, Kansas. Croft was winless last weekend in the first IRT event of the season, but he's in the semi-finals this weekend. That's the good news for him.

The bad news is he'll face Kane Waselenchuk, the IRT's #1 player, in the semis on Saturday, after Waselenchuk beat Chris Crowther in the quarters, 11-3, 11-5, 11-0. Waselenchuk's only lost twice in over six seasons*, so Croft has his work cut out for him on Saturday.

Like Croft, Alvaro Beltran was shutout last weekend in San Marcos, Texas, but he's also in the semi-finals this weekend, as he defeated Charlie Pratt, 11-7, 11-4, 11-1, in Friday's quarterfinals.

Beltran will take on IRT #2, Rocky Carson, in the semis, as Carson beat the player who beat Beltran last week: Marco Rojas, 11-5, 11-3, 11-4.

The semi-finals will be on the IRT Network with the final at noon Sunday.

(note: twice in completed matches; not counting injury defaults)
