The top three seeds in both Men's and Women's Singles have reached the semi-finals at the 2017 Canadian Racquetball Championships in Brossard, Québec, but both fourth seeds were upset. In Men's Singles, top seed and defending champion Mike Green defeated Nathaniel Husulak, 15-10, 15-7, in the quarterfinals Thursday, while top seed Frédérique Lambert beat Alexis Iwaasa, 15-3, 15-3, in Women's Singles.
But Lee Connell, the 4th seed in Men's Singles, lost to 5th seed James Landeryou, 9-15, 15-10, 11-6, and Danielle Drury, 4th seed in Women's Singles, was upset in two straight games by Michèle Morissette, 15-2, 16-14.
Both 3rd seeds needed to fight back to win after they dropped the first games of their respective matches. Tim Landeryou defeated Pedro Castro, 7-15, 15-10, 11-2, in Men's Singles, while Christine Richardson fought off three match points in the tie-breaker, as she came back from 9-2 down in game three to survive against Valerie Fallu, 12-15, 15-13, 12-10.
The singles semi-finals are Friday afternoon and evening with the finals on Saturday.
