Play like it's 2015! - LPRT Doubles at 2018 UnitedHealthcare US Open

It'll be 2015 all over again in the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) doubles final at the 2018 UnitedHeathcare US Open Racquetball Championships in Minneapolis, as Paola Longoria and Samantha Salas will play Alexandra Herrera and Montserrat Mejia Sunday in what will be a repeat of the 2015 final. That year Longoria and Salas won their first of two US Open doubles titles. Longoria is undefeated in four US Open LPRT doubles finals, but she's played two of them with other partners, when Salas was injured.

In the semi-finals, Longoria and Salas defeated Nancy Enriquez and Yazmine Sabja, 15-7, 15-9, while Herrera and Mejia beat Angelica Barrios and Jenny Daza, 15-10, 15-2.

In the Longoria and Salas versus Enriquez and Sabja match, the teams were close early in both games. In game one, Longoria and Salas only led by one at 8-7. However, Longoria and Salas ran the table from there to win 15-7. Down the stretch, Longoria hit two drive serve crack aces on the left side, and then second won the game for her side.

A similar scenario played out in game two, as Longoria and Salas again led at 8-7, and then scored seven of the next nine points to win 15-9. Game two was marred by some confusion with one of the line judges when players were making appeals. At 9-7 Longoria and Salas leading, they appealed that a hinder call should have been an avoidable, and the call seemed to overturned by the line judges, but then when the situation was completely explained to one of the line judges, the judge made another call, which supported the referee's original call.

At that point, Longoria and Salas freaked out, and their reaction was disproportionate for the situation. The referee only cautioned them, and did not assess a technical, although a technical could have been applied.
