Racquet House San Diego Pro-Am - Preliminary Draws

Round 3 of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) season begins Thursday in San Diego with the San Diego Racquet House Open. There is a large draw of players including all the regulars. However, word is that Mitch Williams will have to miss this tournament due to a knee injury.

That word came after the draw was released, so Williams's name will stand in the draw as the 5th seed. That means one of Alejandro Herrera, Mike Green, Joel Barshaw, Willie Tilton or Bruce Robles will benefit from a default win over Williams in the Round of 16.

Those five players are competing in qualifying for the Q4 spot, which was to play Williams in the 16s. But that should now be a default win.

Jack Huczek will also benefit, as he was to play the winner of the Williams match. He'll now face a lower ranked opponent in the quarter finals, if he wins his Round of 16 match. Given his recent form, Huczek should be happy about this development.

The tournament will be available for viewing over the internet via the IRT Network. Friday's action - Round of 16 and quarter finals - can be viewed for free with subscribers being able to see the semi-finals and final on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
