WRT 2016 Mt Rainier Open - Round of 32 & 16

Sam Bredenbeck is in the quarterfinals of the 2016 World Racquetball Tour (WRT) Mt Rainier Open in Seattle, which is his first quarterfinal ever. He upset 11th seed Danny Lavely, 9-15, 15-10, 11-8, in the first round, and then benefited from Sebastian Franco being a no show, as Leonardo Garcia got a forfeit win over Franco, and Bredenbeck easily beat Garcia in the Round of 16, 15-1, 15-10.

Bredenbeck will play 3rd seed David Horn in the quarters, as Horn beat Wally Bunn in the 16s, 15-3, 15-9. Another win for Bredenbeck and he could play his brother, 2nd seed Jake Bredenbeck, in the semi-finals, if Jake defeats 7th seed Christian Longoria in their quarterfinal match.

In other action, WRT #1 Alejandro Cardona advanced to the quarters with a comfortable win over Russel Cahill, 15-1, 15-8. Cardona will play Gerardo Franco in the quarters, as Franco won a tie-breaker against Francisco Troncoso, 15-3, 7-15, 11-0.

Live streaming will begin in the quarterfinals on Saturday morning at 10 AM Pacific time. The semi-finals are scheduled to start at 5 and 6 PM Saturday with the final on Sunday at noon. Play can be viewed via the WRT website.
