2020 LPRT Sweet Caroline Pro-Am Preview

The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) returns to Greenville, South Carolina for the 2020 Sweet Caroline Pro-Am. It’s a Grand Slam level event, so a field of 27 players have made the trip to Greenville to vie for the title. LPRT #1 Paola Longoria and #2 Maria Jose Vargas lead a field that has the top 11 ranked players and 19 of the top 20, as well as the top 2 players from the 2019 International Racquetball Federation (IRF) World Junior Championships in Angelica Barrios and Valeria Centellas, as well as former LPRT top 10 player Susana Acosta.

In short, the field is packed!

Three Round of 32 matches to watch for are former top 5 player Jessica Parrilla versus current IRF U18 World Junior Champion Barrios. Also, 10th seed Masiel Rivera against 23rd seed Valeria Centellas, because both have been semi-finalists this season; Rivera in Virginia Beach and Centellas two weeks ago in Florida. The 15/18 match should be good too, as the USA’s Sheryl Lotts takes on Guatemala’s Maria Renee Rodriguez.

The Round of 32 begins at 9 AM on Friday, with the Round of 16 beginning at Friday at 3 PM. On Saturday, the quarterfinals will be at 11 AM and noon, and the semi-finals at 5 and 6 PM. The singles final will be 1 PM Sunday with the doubles final to follow at 2. All times eastern.
