No big upsets through the first round of match as the 2022 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) Boston Open in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Cristina Amaya of Colombia, seeded 19th, won a battle with fellow veteran Nancy Enriquez of Mexico, the 14th seed, 15-6, 10-15, 11-5, in the Round of 32 and will play 3rd seed Maria Jose Vargas in the Round of 16 later today. Also, 17th seed American Hollie Scott won the 16/17 match against 16th seed Maria Renee Rodriguez of Guatemala, 15-11, 13-15, 11-1, to set up a show down with LPRT #1 Paola Longoria of Mexico.
One other Round of 32 match went to a tie-breaker, as American Erika Manilla came back from a game down to defeat current World Junior Champion Micaela Meneses from Bolivia, 13-15, 15-5, 11-7. Manilla will play 4th seed Gabriela Martinez of Guatemala in the 16s later.
The Round of 16 begins Friday afternoon at 3 PM. The quarterfinals will be 10 and 11 AM Saturday morning with the semi-finals at 4 and 5 PM, and the final on Sunday at noon. The doubles begin Friday afternoon with the 16s, and then the quarters will be Friday evening with the semis Saturday evening and final at 1 PM Sunday. All times Eastern.
