IRT - Lawler Sports Round of 16

They're finished the Round of 16 at the Lawler Sports Pro Am in Terre Haute, Indiana the second event of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) season. No upsets happened in the qualifying round.

But we do have the first Round of 16 upset of the season, as Juan Herrera defeated Andy Hawthorne in five games, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 7-11, 11-1. This is also the first win by a qualifier this season.

Fourth seed Shane Vanderson also needed five games to defeat former #1 Cliff Swain, winning 1-11, 11-3, 11-9, 7-11, 11-3. Vanderson will next play fifth seed Jason Mannino, who defeated Kris Odegard, 10-12, 11-3, 11-2, 11-1.

Sixth seed Mitch Williams had a close match with Hiroshi Shimizu winning 13-15, 11-9, 11-2, 12-10. Williams will face Jack Huczek in the quarter finals, as Huczek easily defeated Rafael Filippini, 11-1, 11-1, 11-2.

The quarter finals begin later on Friday, and can be viewed via the IRT Network.com.
