There were two Tier 4 events on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) this past weekend in addition to the Corona Open in Chihuahua, Mexico.
In Claremont, California, Scott Davis won the Pomona Valley Open - a Tier 4 IRT event. Seeded 21st, Davis defeated 2nd seed Greg Solis in the final, 11-6, 11-8, 11-5, and the 1st seed Felipe Munoz in the semi-finals, 11-5, 11-7, 11-5. Solis beat 22nd seed Brandon Robbins, 11-4, 11-7, 11-3.
Across the USA in Long Island, New York, the Long Island Open - a Tier 4 IRT event - went according to the seedings until the final, when 2nd seed Agustin Tristan defeated the legend Ruben Gonzalez, who was seeded 1st. In the semi-finals, Tristan defeated 3rd seed Jason Sylvester and Gonzalez beat 4th seed Dan Llacera.
Next on the IRT schedule is the 20th Annual Turkey Shoot in Garden City, Kansas from November 18-21, which is a Tier 2 IRT event.
