Samantha Salas Solis has won her first Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) Tier 1 event as she beat Kerri Wachtel at the 2010 Puget Sound Challenge Pro/Am on Sunday in Olympia, Washington. It was a closely fought final, as Salas Solis won it in four games, 13-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-7.
The final was the second of Salas's career and the first for Wachtel since September 2009. On Sunday, Salas will be going for her first WPRO win while Wachtel hasn't won a WPRO event since December 2007.
The next WPRO has two events next month: a satellite event - The New Jersey Open December 3-5 - and the Tier 1 Christmas Classic December 10-12 in Arlington, Virginia.
