The unexpected has become the expected in Olympia, Washington at the 2010 Puget Sound Challenge Pro/Am, as the two top seeds - Rhonda Rajsich and Cheryl Gudinas - were defeated in the semi-finals of this Tier 1 event on the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) tour. Sunday's final will see 3rd seed Samantha Salas face off against 4th seed Kerri Wachtel.
Both Salas and Wachtel needed four games to defeat the top seeds, as Salas took out Gudinas, 11-4, 11-6, 10-12, 11-6, and Wachtel beat Rajsich, 6-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-5.
It's only Salas's second career final and the first for Wachtel since September 2009. On Sunday, Salas will be going for her first WPRO win while Wachtel will be trying to win her first WPRO event since December 2007.
The final will be Sunday at noon PST.
