IRT - Kansas City Pro-Am / Ghost of Georgetown Preliminary Results

Two results of note from the preliminary rounds on Thursday at the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Kansas City Pro-Am / Ghost of Georgetown tournament. Canadian Champion Mike Green reached the Round of 16 with two wins on Thursday. He first took out Fernando Rios, 11-6, 11-0, 11-1, and then took out Charlie Pratt in five games, 11-4, 11-1, 13-15, 8-11, 11-3. He'll play Alvaro Beltran in the 16s on Friday.

Travis Woodbury also made it through to the 16s with a win over Francisco Troncoso, 4-11, 11-1, 11-7, 11-5. But that win might be a mixed blessing for Woodbury as he'll face IRT #1 Kane Waselenchuk on Friday.

All the other final round qualifying matches were won by the higher seed in three straight games, including a win by young American Jansen Allen over Japanese veteran Hiroshi Shimizu, 11-2, 11-5, 11-8.

The IRT Network will carry the action live over the web all day Friday beginning at 10 AM CDT and the quarter finals at 4 PM CDT.
