The top four doubles pairs are through to the semi-finals in the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) doubles competition at the 2014 United Healthcare US Open. But three of the four teams had a close match to reach the semis, including top seeds Rhonda Rajsich and Maria Jose Vargas who were up against the current US Champions Aimee Ruiz and Janel Tisinger. Rajsich and Vargas came out on top in a tie-breaker, 15-6, 7-15, 11-7.
The young team of Michelle Key and Frédérique Lambert also needed a tie-breaker to get past the Venezuelan team of Mariana Paredes and Mariana Tobon Gordon, 12-15, 15-4, 11-4.
Mexicans Susana Acosta and Jessica Parrilla won in two games against Japanese veterans Maiko Sato and Naomi Wakimoto, but the games were almost as close as can be, as the Mexicans won 15-13, 15-14.
Only Paola Longoria and Veronica Sotomayor had a comfortable win, as they defeated American veterans Laura Fenton and Cheryl Gudinas, 15-6, 15-3.
