16th Annual Ghost of Georgetown - Preliminary matches

No upsets in the preliminary matches at the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Ghost of Georgetown tournament in Overland Park, Kansas, which kicks off the 2015-16 IRT season. Two matches did go to four games, as Mauricio Zelada defeated Troy Warigon, 8-11, 11-1, 11-6, 11-7, and Scott McClellan beat John Hudson, 11-3, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7.

Zelada will play 5th seed Jose Rojas in the Round of 16 Friday, while McClellan will face 4th seed Daniel De La Rosa.

IRT #1 Kane Waselenchuk will be up against a fellow left hander in the 16s, as Brad Schopieray defeated Cody Hudson, 11-0, 11-8, 14-12, on Thursday.

Any upsets in the 16s would be big surprises to us, but if the top 8 seeds go through to the quarterfinals, those four matches should all be good, especially De La Rosa versus Rojas, and 3rd seed Alvaro Beltran against 6th seed Ben Croft.

The Round of 16 begins Friday morning with the quarterfinals Friday evening, semi-finals Saturday afternoon and final on Sunday at noon. You can follow the action via the IRT Network.
