The seeds are continuing to win in Georgia at the World Racquetball Tour (WRT) Grace Warrior Atlanta Open, although again the top seeds are having more difficulty than lower seeds in advancing, as both #1 seed Alejandro Cardona and #2 Jake Bredenbeck needed tie-breakers to advance to the semi-finals early on Saturday.
Cardona defeated his doubles partner Christian Longoria in the quarterfinals, 15-5, 9-15, 11-5, while Bredenbeck came from a game down to beat Jaime Martell, 8-15, 15-12, 11-3.
In the semis, Cardona will face 4th seed Andree Parrilla, who defeated 5th seed Anthony Herrera in the quarters, 15-8, 15-7, and Bredenbeck's opponent will be fellow American David Horn, who was beat Sebastian Franco, 15-6, 15-2, in the quarterfinals.
The semi-finals in singles and doubles go Saturday evening with the final on Sunday at noon EDT (singles) and 1 PM EDT (doubles). You can watch the action live from Atlanta via the World Racquetball Tour website. Click the “Live” link in the upper right corner.
