Top seeds Horn & Rajsich on track for titles at 2018 USA Racquetball National Singles Championships

Top seeds David Horn and Rhonda Rajsich have made it to the finals of the Men’s and Women’s Team Qualifying divisions at the USA Racquetball National Singles Championships in Pleasanton, California. But their opponents in the respective finals are a bit surprising.

Horn will play Jose Rojas, who is playing only his 2nd tournament since he played in last year’s National Singles Championships, when he lost to Horn in the semi-finals. Rojas came into this year’s event as the 6th seed, and upset 2nd seed Charlie Pratt, 15-13, 15-10, in the semi-finals to make Sunday’s final. In the other semi, Horn pulled out a tie-breaker win over Jose Diaz, 15-12, 9-15, 11-10.

In the women’s final, Rajsich will face 3rd seed Kelani Bailey. Bailey was the 3rd seed, and needed three game to upset 2nd seed Adrienne Haynes, 11-15, 15-2, 11-0, in one semi-final, while Rajsich beat 5th seed Sheryl Lotts, 15-5, 15-4, in the other semi.
