Weekend Round Up - Herrera & Otto win Men's Open titles

Juan Herrera won the Shamrock Shootout in Lombard, Illinois Sunday, as he defeated Juan Martinez III in the final of the Tier 5 International Racquetball Tour (IRT) event, 11-4, 11-7, 11-7. If you're thinking "hey, didn't Herrera play in the Party with the Pros in St Louis?", you're correct. Herrera lost in the Round of 16 in St Louis and then made haste to get up to Lombard for the Shamrock Shootout.

In the semi-finals, Herrera beat Geoff Goldblatt, 11-3, 11-0, 11-8, while Martinez had a battle with Indiana veteran Brian Simpson that went five games before Martinez prevailed, 11-0, 4-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-4.

Herrera and Martinez teamed up in doubles and finished second in a five team round robin, losing to Clint Hickman and Eric Mathews, 15-9, 4-15, 11-6.

Meanwhile in St Louis, Tyler Otto won the Men's Open title at the Party with the Pros defeating Brad Schopieray in the final (score unavailable). Otto - the 4th seed - got to the final with a win over 1st seed Lee Connell in the semi-finals, 15-3, 15-8, and 3rd seeded Schopieray beat 2nd seed Arthur Schmeiser, 15-5, 11-15, 11-6, in the other semi.
