Singles Draws for 2019 IRF World Junior Championships

The draws are out for the medal rounds of competition at the 2019 International Racquetball Federation (IRF) World Junior Racquetball Championships in San José, Costa Rica, which begin Wednesday.

As we mentioned earlier in the week, the Girl’s U18 final will likely be between Bolivian team-mates Valeria Centellas, who’s seeded #1, and Angelica Barrios, seeded #3, as they have the most experience - and some successful experiences - playing at the next level. But Ana Sarmiento of Ecuador, who is the 2nd seed, and Argentina’s Martina Katz, who’s 4th seed and playing up a division as she’s also in U16, have been impressive, so it will be interesting to see how they fare against the Bolivians.

In Boy’s U18, the winner could come from the top of the draw, as both Bolivian Gerson Miranda, the #1 seed, and Argentina’s Diego Garcia, the #4 seed, are on that half of the draw. The top seeds on the bottom of the draw are Emir Martinez of Mexico (#2) and Johan Igor of Chile (#3).
