Aisling Hickey has made it through qualifying to claim a spot in the Round of 32 of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) singles draw at the 2021 UnitedHealthcare US Open in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the second round of qualifying Hickey defeated Erin Groves, 15-12, 15-12, which was a follow up win to her victory over Maria Paz Muñoz, 11-15, 15-10, 11-4, in the first round. Hickey will play 7th seed Samantha Salas in the 32s Thursday.
Veronica Sotomayor has made the 32s, as she defeated Maria Riquelme, 15-3, 15-0, in the second round of qualifying, and will face Jessica Parrilla in the 32s Thursday. Earlier in the first round of qualifying, she beat Sumin Lee, 15-4, 15-0, in what was her first LPRT match in almost five years.
