Day 3 of 2022 Pan American Championships

The crazy score line of the day on Monday at the 2022 Pan American Racquetball Championships in Santa Cruz, Bolivia happened in Men’s Doubles, as Chileans Rafael Gatica and Rodrigo Salgado Jr. went five games with Guatemalans Geovani Mendoza and Juan Salvatierra, with three of the games decided by one point and only one point separated the teams overall. Chile won 14-15, 11-15, 15-14, 15-14, 11-7, and finishes 3rd in their group on the last day of the group stages of matches.

Also in Men’s Doubles, brothers Jake Bredenbeck and Sam Bredenbeck of the USA defeated Bolivians Kadim Carrasco and Carlos Keller in four close games, 15-13, 15-13, 11-15, 15-14, to go undefeated in group play and top group 1. Thus, they’ll be the #1 seeds in the medal round.

The Costa Rica team of Andres Acuña and Gabriel Garcia will be the #2 seeds in Men’s Doubles, as they beat Mexicans Elias Nieto and Erick Trujillo, 14-15, 15-13, 15-8, 15-9, on Monday to top group 2.

The other top seeds for the medal round will be Maria Jose Vargas of Argentina in Women’s Singles, Conrrado Moscoso of Bolivia in Men’s Singles, Mexicans Alejandra Herrera and Samantha Salas in Women’s Doubles, and Bolivians Micaela Meneses and Moscoso in Mixed Doubles.
