De La Rosa needs 3 games to advance to semis at 2022 IRT SoCal Open

Daniel De La Rosa, the #1 player on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT), advanced to the semi-finals at the 2022 IRT SoCal Open in Canoga Park, California, but in the quarterfinals he needed a tie-breaker get by former #1 Rocky Carson, coming back from a game down to win in three games, 13-15, 15-12, 11-5.

IRT #3 Andree Parrilla defeated #6 Conrrado Moscoso in two games, but they were both close with Parrilla winning 15-12, 15-13. Moscoso, who won the Pan American Men's Singles Championship earlier this month, had significant leads in both games - 8-0 in game one, and 13-9 in game two - but he couldn’t find a way to win either game.

The other quarters were relatively straightforward, as Canadian Samuel Murray, the 5th seed, defeated American Adam Manilla, 15-7, 15-8, and Mexican Eduardo Portillo beat fellow countryman Erick Trujillo, 15-8, 15-4. Murray will play De La Rosa in one semi-final, while in the other Portillo faces Parrilla in what will be a battle of former doubles partners.

You can see the 2022 SoCal Open matches via the usual IRT media outlets: The IRT YouTube channel or the IRT Facebook page. The semi-finals will be 11 AM and noon Saturday with the final at 5 PM. All times Pacific.
