Waselenchuk into semi-finals at 2024 IRT McNamara Minnesota Racquetball Hall of Fame tournament

Kane Waselenchuk, a former #1 player on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT), is into the semi-finals at the 2024 IRT McNamara Minnesota Racquetball Hall of Fame tournament in Minneapolis. He’s seeded 11th this weekend, but he defeated IRT #3 Jake Bredenbeck, 15-13, 15-8, in the quarterfinals, after beating 6th seed Andrés Acuña, 15-2, 15-6, in the Round of 16.

Waselenchuk will take on IRT #2 Rodrigo Montoya in the semi-finals Saturday afternoon, as Montoya defeated 10th seed Erick Trujillo, 15-4, 15-14, in the quarters Friday. Waselenchuk's last win on tour was in March 2022, when he beat Rocky Carson in Shamrock Shootout.

IRT #1 Conrrado Moscoso beat 8th seed Thomas Carter, 15-4, 15-5, in the quarterfinals, and will play 4th seed Andree Parrilla Saturday in the semi-finals, as Parrilla came back to defeat 5th seed Adam Manilla, 13-15, 15-3, 11-2, on Friday.

All four tops seeds are into the semi-finals in doubles. Top seeds Manilla and Parrilla defeated 8th seeds Carter and Jaime Martell, 15-10, 15-11, in the quarterfinals, and will play 4th seeds Acuña and Alan Natera, in the semis, as Acuña and Natera held on to defeat 5th seeds Jake and Sam Bredenbeck, 15-7, 11-15, 11-4.

In the other semi, it’ll be 2nd seeds Kadim Carrasco and Moscoso versus Kurtis Cullen and Montoya. In the quarterfinals, Carrasco and Moscoso defeated 7th seeds Edwin Galicia and Juan Salvatierra, 14-15, 15-8, 11-1, while Cullen and Montoya beat 11th seeds Carlos Ramirez & Mauricio Zelada, 15-8, 15-11.

Saturday play begins with the doubles semi-finals at 10 and 11 AM with the singles semis at 3 and 4 PM. The finals are on Sunday with singles at 11 AM and doubles at noon.
