Kane Waselenchuk, the #1 player on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT), will look to begin the 2010-2011 IRT season as he ended the 2009-2010 season: with a victory, as he's in the final of the Kansas City Pro-Am/11th Annual Ghost of Georgetown tournamant, which is the first event of the IRT season. Waselenchuk will face 3rd seed Rocky Carson in the final.
Waselenchuk had a relatively easy match in the semi-finals on Saturday, as he defeated Ben Croft, 11-4, 11-1, 11-3. Carson on the other hand, needed five games to beat Mitch Williams, 3-11, 11-6, 11-5, 2-11, 11-8.
Waselenchuk and Carson met in two finals last season, with Waselenchuk winning both of them. However, Carson was competitive with Waselenchuk in both matches and is coming off his 2nd victory at the IRF World Championships - one of the few feats that has eluded Waselenchuk in his career.
