2010 World Professional Racquetball Championship - IRT SFs

Chris Crowther reached his first career final Saturday by defeating Mitch Williams in the semi-finals of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) World Professional Racquetball Championship in Cali, Columbia, 7-11, 11-3, 2-11, 12-10, 11-3. It was only Crowther's second career semi-final.

Crowther will play top seed Kane Waselenchuk who is undefeated in the past 21 months. However, he did lose his first game since March as Ben Croft won the first game of their semi-final. But the Waselenchuk got himself back on track and won the match in four games, 10-12, 11-4, 11-4, 11-5.

The Racquetball Blog staff believes this is the first time the semi-finals of an IRT main event - Tier 1 or Grand Slam - has featured only one of the top 4 ranked IRT players since the San Diego Open in February 2005, when Jason Thoerner, Mike Guidry, Cliff Swain and Shane Vanderson were in the semis. Swain beat Vanderson in the final.

Sunday's final can be viewed via the web at the IRT Network.
