The International Racquetball Tour (IRT) is back this weekend after almost a two month hiatus with the Florida Spring Break tournament in Tampa, Florida. IRT #1 Kane Waselenchuk, who missed the second event of 2013 due to injury, is back and looking to extend his winning streak. IRT #2 Rocky Carson went five games with Waselenchuk in the final of the California Open in January, but it was a losing effort. Carson will be looking to come out on top this time.
Carson won the last IRT event the New York City Pro-Am on Long Island, where he defeated Jose Rojas. Rojas is seeded 4th and will have to go through Waselenchuk if he's going to reach the final in Florida. Alvaro Beltran is the 3rd seed.
There are also some good young players in the qualifying draw, including Jansen Allen, Alex Ackermann, Jose Diaz and Brad Schopieray, who will all be looking to get to the Round of 16 and cause some upsets.
The IRT Network will be web-casting matches from Tampa beginning Thursday March 7 at 7 PM EST.
