IRT Rankings December 15, 2014 - De La Rosa #4

The International Racquetball Tour (IRT) has updated its rankings after last weekend's New Jersey Open, where Daniel De La Rosa won for the first time in his career. The win moves De La Rosa up to 4th in the rankings, ahead of Jose Rojas, who's now 5th.

The top three remain the same: Kane Waselenchuk is 1st despite missing three of the last four events due to injury; Rocky Carson is solidly 2nd, as he's won three of the last four IRT events, and Alvaro Beltran, runner up in four of the last five events is 3rd.

De La Rosa being 4th is significant, as the IRT's top four players are seeded into the top four spots, but the next four players can be shuffled depending on the event. Thus, the 4th ranked player won't necessarily play the 5th ranked player in the quarterfinals (assuming they win their Round of 16 matches).

Also significantly Marco Rojas has moved up to the 8th spot, ahead of Jansen Allen in 9th and Tony Carson in 10th. The top eight players are seeded into the Round of 16, so being in that group is important.
