LPRT 23rd Annual Christmas Classic Preview

The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) are in action again this weekend with the second of back to back tournaments: the 23rd Annual LPRT Christmas Classic in Arlington, Virginia. The draw in Arlington is smaller, as 19 players are competing for the title, and also notable is that Paola Longoria, the LPRT #1 player, will not be there.

This opens up an opportunity for Maria Jose Vargas, the LPRT's #2 player, to win her first pro tournament. But she'll likely have to face either #3 Rhonda Rajsich or #4 Samantha Salas in the final, both of those players have won pro events, although Salas has only won once on tour.

There will also be a few doubles matches, as there is a small doubles draw with Vargas and Rajsich teaming up as the top seeds. The bottom of the draw will have a match up of two Mexican lefty-righty teams in Alexandra Herrera and Samantha Salas versus Susana Acosta and Jessica Parrilla.

Matches begin Friday morning with the Round of 32, and then the Round of 16 will be early Friday evening. There should be live streaming of matches from Arlington beginning with the quarterfinals at 11 AM EST on Saturday, the semi-finals at 5 PM and 6 PM EST, and the final at 11 AM EST on Sunday.
