LPRT Doubles Quarterfinals at 2017 UnitedHealthcare US Open

The clock struck midnight on Aimee Ruiz and Janel Tisinger in Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) doubles play Thursday at the 2017 UnitedHealthcare US Open in Minneapolis, and they lost to 4th seeds Cristina Amaya and Adriana Riveros, 14-15, 15-6, 11-1. Ruiz and Tisinger had staged a big tie-breaker comeback on Wednesday, but they were not able to repeat the feat Thursday.

Amaya and Riveros will play top seeds Jessica Parrilla and Frédérique Lambert in the semi-finals Friday, as Parrilla and Lambert beat Monserrat Perez and Erin Groves, 15-8, 15-2.

On the other side of the draw, Rhonda Rajsich and Sheryl Lotts upset 3rd seeds Alexandra Herrera and Monserrat Mejia, 15-14, 11-15, 11-7, to set up a semi-final against 2nd seeds Paola Longoria and Gabriela Martinez, who were straight game winners over Susana Acosta and Eleni Guzman, 15-7, 15-4.

The LPRT semi-finals at 2017 UnitedHealthcare US Open will be Friday evening at 4:20 PM and 6:20 PM with the final Saturday at 4 PM at the Life Time Athletic Target Center club in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
