Alexandra Herrera, seeded 5th, upset 4th seed Frédérique Lambert, 11-4, 7-11, 11-5, 11-5, in the quarterfinals of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) Sweet Caroline Open in Greenville, South Carolina. She’ll play LPRT #1 Paola Longoria in the semi-finals, as Longoria beat Carla Muñoz, 11-5, 11-3, 11-2, in the quarters. Their match will be a battle of doubles partners, as Herrera and Longoria have teamed up to play together this weekend.
On the other side of the draw, Nancy Enriquez defeated Eleni Guzman, 11-1, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, in the quarters to advance to the semi-finals for only the second time in her career. The last time she was in a semi-final was February of 2011 in Miami, where she lost to Longoria. Guzman had leads in both games three and four at 6-3, but Enriquez came back in both to win them.
Today, Enriquez will play Jessica Parrilla, who outlasted Samantha Salas over five games, winning 5-11, 11-9, 13-11, 10-12, 11-2.
