In an all-Bolivian battle, 12th seed Carlos Keller upset 5th seed - and 2019 runner up - Conrrado Moscoso, 15-13, 15-5, in the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Round of 16 at the 2021 UnitedHealthcare US Open in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Keller, who is the reigning two time Pan American Champion, will play 4th seed Samuel Murray in the quarterfinals on Friday. Murray beat 13th seed Sebastian Franco, 15-4, 15-6, in the 16s.
The IRT's #1 player Kane Waselenchuk defeated Adam Manilla in straight games, 15-4, 15-8, and will play a familiar foe in the quarterfinals, when he goes up against Rocky Carson, who was a winner over Alvaro Beltran, 15-14, 15-1.
Other results from the Round of 16 include 3rd seed Alejandro Landa's win over Sebastian Fernandez, 15-8, 15-6, and 6th seed Andree Parrilla's defeat of 11th seed Mario Mercado, 15-11, 15-8. Those wins set up a Mexican showdown between Landa and Parrilla in the quarters on Friday.
