IRT Round of 32 at Arizona Open

There were two upsets in the Round of 32 of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) draw at the 2021 Arizona Open in Tempe, Arizona. Mauricio Zelada came back to defeat 11th Thomas Carter, 11-15, 15-7, 11-2, and will play 6th seed Rocky Carson in the Round of 16 this evening. Kadim Carrasco also caused an upset via a tie-breaker, as he defeated 13th seed Eduardo Garay, 15-14, 15-6, 11-9 [sic] Otherwise, the higher seeds all won, including US Open finalist Carlos Keller, who beat Edwin Galicia, 15-7, 15-6.

The Round of 16 will be at 6 and 7 PM Friday evening. The quarterfinals will be Saturday at noon and 1 PM. The semi-finals will be 5 and 6 PM Saturday and the final at 12:15 PM Sunday. All times are Mountain. Look for the action via the IRT YouTube channel., as well as its Facebook page.
