IRT - 2013 USAR National Singles - Round of 32

As anticipated there will a rematch between Chris Crowther and Polo Gutierrez at the the USA Racquetball Ektelon Nationals in Fullerton, California - the last event of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) season, but this time it will happen a round earlier than last year, when the met in the quarter finals with Gutierrez winning. They'll square off later on Thursday in the Round of 16.

Earlier on Thursday, Crowther beat Andree Parrilla, 11-6, 11-2, 11-0, while Gutierrez defeated Marco Rojas, 8-11, 11-3, 11-9, 11-2.

The biggest upsets have come in one bracket, as Hiroshi Shimizu got a default win against Alvaro Beltran, and Jose Diaz was upset by Fernando Rios, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9. They will square off in the Round of 16 for a spot in the quarter finals against either Andy Hawthorne or Ben Croft.

Other minor upsets of note were David Horn's victory over Alex Ackermann, 11-1, 11-7, 11-8, and Brad Schopieray win against Anthony Herrera, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-1.

The IRT Network has begun web-casting from Fullerton and will continue throughout the tournament.
