Waselenchuk wins IRT Stockton Pro-Am

Kane Waselenchuk, the International Racquetball Tour's (IRT's) #1 player won his 8th tournament of the season by defeating Rocky Carosn, the IRT's #2 player, in the final of the Stockton Pro-Am in Stockton, California on Sunday, 11-6, 11-2, 11-5. Carson is the only other player to have won a tournament this season.

Carson complimented Waselenchuk on his good play after the match saying "Kane played well today." Carson said he "had a few chances" during the match, but only a few.

Waselenchuk said it all "starts with the serve," and he drove serve all most exclusively throughout the tournament, although he did hit a few lob serves in the final against Carson.

Waselenchuk hasn't lost three games in a match since January 2009, although there have been some matches that he's had to default due to injury, most recently in March in Denver, where he was playing Carson in the final.

But when Waselenchuk is fully fit, he's been unstoppable in over four years.

The last event of the 2012-13 IRT season will be the Ektelon Nationals that happens May 15-19 in Fullerton, California.
