2014 IRT New York City Pro-Am - Early Results

Results from Thursday's preliminary round and the Round of 16 on Friday at this past weekend's International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Cactus Salon New York City Pro-Am were slow coming out, but we've got them all for you now.

There were impressive wins by Adam Manilla, US Junior Team member, who reached the Round of 16 with a win over Mauricio Zelada, 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 4-11, 11-2, and Canadian National Team member Vincent Gagnon, who beat Charlie Pratt, 11-4, 11-7, 11-9 to reach the 16 and then went tie-breaker with Jansen Allen before losing, 9-11, 11-5, 13-11, 3-11, 11-7.

Also, David Horn beat 4th seed Jose Rojas, 11-7, 11-5, 11-9, in the Round of 16. Word was that Rojas wasn't 100% due to an illness, but still Rojas is a high quality player and Horn had to make the shots. And he won in three straight, which is impressive.

The IRT will be back in action in Sioux Falls, South Dakota next week for the Lewis Drugs Pro-Am January 23-26, 2014.
