Good news! Kane Waselenchuk, the #1 player on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT), is in the draw for the 25th Annual Turkey Shootout taking place this weekend in Garden City, Kansas. Waselenchuk has missed the last two IRT events, but is likely itching to play this weekend.
There's a small draw in Garden City, but the top players are there, including IRT #2 Rocky Carson and IRT #3 Alvaro Beltran, who each won one of the last two IRT events in Waselenchuk's absence.
Also in the draw are last week's finalist Jose Rojas, who's seeded 8th this week, and could meet Waselenchuk in the quarterfinals, and semi-finalist from last week, Brad Schopieray, who still needs to win a qualifying match to get into the Round of 16. If successful in qualifying, he'll play Carson in the 16s.
The qualifying matches will go Thursday night with the Round of 16 starting Friday morning followed by the quarterfinals Friday afternoon and evening. The semi-finals are scheduled for 5 PM and 6 PM CST Saturday with the final at 11 AM CST Sunday morning.
You can follow the action from the Round of 16 on via the IRT Network.
