The new International Racquetball Tour (IRT) rankings are out and as The Racquetball Blog expected Kane Waselenchuk is now ranked third passing Alvaro Beltran, who drops to fourth. It's another step forward for Waselenchuk, a former IRT #1, who has returned to IRT competition this season after missing two seasons due to a suspension for testing positive for banned substances at the 2006 Canadian National Championships.
Waselenchuk held the #1 spot for most of the period between 2003 and 2006.
The ranking change will put Waselenchuk and Jack Huczek, IRT #2, on the same side of the draw at the next tournament, the Florida Spring Break event going on next weekend March 12-15 in Sarasota, Florida.
Waselenchuk and Huczek have met in the finals of the last three IRT events, and Waselenchuk won all three meetings.
