The top two seeds - #1 Paola Longoria and #2 Rhonda Rajsich - are through to the semi-finals in Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) draw of the 2010 US Open in Minneapolis, and both won their quarter final matches in three straight games.
Longoria defeated Aimee Ruiz, 11-6, 11-6, 11-6, and Rajsich beat Jessica Parrilla, 11-7, 11-1, 11-1, ending Parrilla's dream US Open run. She'd reached the quarters from the first round of qualifying.
Third seed Cheryl Gudinas ran out of luck in Minneapolis as she lost in three straight games to Christie Huczek, 11-5, 11-5, 11-7. Gudinas had been down in both of her previous matches and managed to come back and win. When she was up 7-4 in the third game against Huczek, it looked like a comeback was still a possibility, but that was not to be.
Fifth seed Samantha Salas Solis defeated 4th seed Kerri Wachtel in four games, 11-4, 11-5, 10-12, 11-8.
The women's semi-finals will begin at 10 AM CDT at the Lifetime Fitness - Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
