2014 Ektelon LPRT Pro Nationals Round of 16

Two upsets in the Round of 16 at the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) Ektelon Pro Nationals in Herndon, Virginia Friday. Eleventh seed Veronica Sotomayor upset 6th seed Frédérique Lambert, 14-12, 9-11, 11-2, 11-8, and 10th seed Da'monique Davis beat 7th seed Susana Acosta, 11-6, 12-10, 6-11, 12-10.

The wins should put both Sotomayor and Davis in the season ending top 10, and with Aubrey Kirch winning against Cheryl Gudinas, 11-3, 11-1, 11-4, will likely mean Gudinas's streak of 20 years as a top 10 women's pro racquetball player has come to an end.

The top LPRT players both won their quarterfinal matches in three straight games. Number 1 Paola Longoria beat Sheryl Lotts, 11-0, 11-2, 11-2, and #2 Rhonda Rajsich defeated Michelle Key, 11-2, 11-5, 11-6.

The LPRT Network will webcast the quarterfinal matches beginning at 11 AM EDT on Saturday, as well as the semi-finals and the women's pro doubles semi-finals Saturday night.
