WPRO - Terrapin Shootout 16s

Mexicans have caused two upsets at the Terrapin Shootout in Laurel, Maryland on the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) tour. In the Round of 16, Susana Acosta-Mendoza defeated 4th seed Adrienne Fisher, 6-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4, while Samantha Salas Solis defeated 7th seed Jennifer Saunders, 11-6, 11-5, 11-4.

Acosta-Mendoza faces Jo Shattuck in the quarter-finals on Saturday, while Salas Solis will play fellow Mexican Paola Longoria, who's the 2nd seed. In the 16s, Shattuck went the distance with Diane Moore, winning 11-5, 9-11, 11-4, 7-11, 12-10, while Longoria defeated Sharon Jackson in three straight games, 11-3, 11-4, 11-3.

Top seed Rhonda Rajsich easily got to the quarters by defeating Laura Brandt, 11-1, 11-0, 11-6. In the quarters, she's up against Krystal Csuk, who needed five games to defeat Keely Franks, 1-11, 11-6, 6-11, 12-10, 11-6.
