Paola Longoria won her 30th consecutive women's pro event and 41st over.., as she defeated Frédérique Lambert to win the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) New Jersey Open in Warren, N.J., winning 11-6, 11-4, 11-5.
Longoria had leads in both game one and two, but late in game one Longoria switched her serve to a drive Z to the left - Lambert's backhand side - that she hit from a standing position. And that serve was the story of the match, as Lambert really didn't have an effective response to it, so Longoria got the advantage and made it count.
So for the fourth time this season Longoria defeated Lambert, but it was the first time she'd done it in a final, as Lambert was making her 1st career LPRT final appearance.
The New Jersey Open is the first of three LPRT events in March. Their next event is the Great Balls of Fire tournament in Miami, Florida March 21-23, and that will be followed by the Southern California Regionals event in Reseda, California March 28-30.
