Frédérique Lambert has reached her first Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) final, as she knocked off the LPRT #3 Maria Jose Vargas, 11-9, 11-56, 1-11, 7-11, 11-5, in the semi-finals of the New Jersey Open in Warren, N.J. Lambert was playing her third semi-final of the season, and has played more LPRT events this season than in any previous season.
But in the final, Lambert will face the LPRT's #1 player Paola Longoria, who hasn't lost a pro match since May 2011. Longoria defeated Samantha Salas, 11-2, 11-6, 11-3, in the other semi.
Longoria and Lambert have played three times this season, and Longoria won each match in three straight games. If Lambert is victorious Sunday, she'll likely be the first woman to win a pro event by defeating the top three seeds.
The New Jersey Open final will be at noon and broadcast via the LPRT Network.
