IRT Shamrock Shootout Quarterfinals

The top two seeds are through to the semi-finals at the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Shamrock Shootout in Lombard, Illinois. IRT #2 Kane Waselenchuk won in three straight games against Marco Rojas, 11-2, 11-2, 11-6, but IRT #1 Rocky Carson needed four games to defeat Ben Croft, 12-10, 11-3, 3-11, 11-8.

Third seed Alvaro Beltran had and even tougher time with 6th seed Jansen Allen, as he was in a must win situation after Allen went up 2 games to 1. But Beltran hung tough, and pulled out game four and then went on to win game five comfortably. The final score line was Beltran defeating Allen, 7-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9, 11-3.

In the last quarterfinal, 5th seed Jose Rojas defeated 4th seed Daniel De La Rosa, 11-3, 11-6, 11-7. Rojas played well, but late in the match De La Rosa was clearly suffering from a lower body injury, as he wasn’t moving around the court very well.

After Rojas won game one comfortably, they were close in game two. But Rojas stepped up the pressure, especially his drive serve and took control of the game and the match.

The semi-finals will be 11 AM and Noon Saturday with the final at 7 PM CDT. All three of those matches can be viewed live via the IRT Network.
